Candidate Program
The Phi Kappa Theta Candidate Program was developed to replace traditional fraternity "pledging." Our modern candidate program focuses on new member education and activities in the chapter will promoting academic excellence, community service, and brotherhood. The 8 week program teaches candidates how to be better men and leaders, and doesn't involve hazing of any kind. Our Directors of New Members guide candidates through the program.
Candidates must attain a 2.7 semester GPA and accumulate 10 community service hours to be eligible for initiation into Phi Kappa Theta.

Going through the candidate program at Phi Kap was extremely helpful and fun in many ways. It is a low time commitment which was super helpful since I have a busy schedule. Before joining I struggled with motivating myself to study and making the time for it, but I was able to fix that. I think my favorite part was just connecting with the actives and my candidate class throughout the semester.

Going through the Phi Kappa Theta candidate program allowed me to emerge myself into a new culture filled with amazing people. I learned new available lessons that I can apply to my daily life to better myself as a student, brother and future lawyer.

The Candidate Program did a great job of integrating me into the fraternity in a fun, healthy way that brought me closer to the actives and other candidates. When I compared my experience to my friends who pledged other fraternities and heard about the hazing that happens, I knew I made the right choice. The Brothers of Phi Kap were very accepting and made me feel like an equal, and the candidate program played a big part in that.
